Service Charge Accountant

Leigh-on-Sea

Our Service Charge Department plays a key role in supporting the efficiency of our organisation. As we continue to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Charge Accountant to join our busy Team. The role is based in our Leigh-on-Sea Office.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Prepare Service Charge budgets and actively working alongside the Property Management Department to ensure that these are realistic, effective, and distributed in a timely manner to achieve KPI targets.
  • Input budgets onto the database ensuring charges are applied correctly and apportionment's agree.
  • Assist Property Managers with account queries and budget preparation.
  • Prepare the weekly budget report for distribution to DOO and GFC
  • Prepare the monthly periodics report for the Corporate Department.
  • Budget and variance reporting
  • Raise periodic Service Charge demands and recharges as required.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Prepare Service Charge accounts for the managed property portfolio to include:
  • Analysis of income and expenditure
  • Accruals and prepayments where necessary
  • Review and analysis of the Service Charge budget to actual expenditure and prior year performance.
  • Liaising with the Property Managers and external accountants to ensure accounts are complete, queries resolved and issued in a timely manner to achieve Corporate KPI targets.

Essentials for the Role

You will be required to work full time in our Head Office, with hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm.

  • Applicants must be either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Service Charge experience is preferable
  • Sound commercial understanding
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Meticulous attentional to detail
  • Organisational skills

Marketing Assistant

Marketing is an integral factor to Gateway's success, through internal and external promotion, brand awareness and exposure, cross-selling and organic/paid advertising.

As we continue to grow, we are searching for a confident Marketing Assistant to join us at our Head Office in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

As a Marketing Assistant at Gateway, you will learn new skills from an experienced Marketing Team to support and execute the company’s marketing strategy.

Your role will provide you with valuable exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Contributing towards the overall creative process, from brief to delivery
  • Spearheading our events calendar confidently, taking the lead on the preparation and execution of the set up and marketing materials for each event we host/attend
  • Assisting with the company’s internal and external documentation rebrand
  • Assisting with the preparation of the company’s monthly newsletter to 27,000+ subscribers, developing interesting article ideas and supplying copy
  • Creating content for, as well as managing and monitoring the company’s social media accounts
  • Video editing informative company videos for internal and external purposes
  • Continual quality control of the company’s websites
  • Preparing and organising weekly marketing mailers
  • Developing fresh ideas for the company’s marketing strategy
  • Supporting other departments with their marketing enquiries
  • Adhering to the company’s brand guidelines
  • Weekly reporting on the company’s current marketing campaigns
  • Travel to other offices (infrequent, but necessary as required)
  • Other ad-hoc administrative duties, as required

Essentials for the Role
You will be required to work full time in our Head Office, with hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Crucially, the successful candidate will be creative, exude confidence and have the ability to learn new skills and software quickly to further their marketing career. Whilst experience in the property sector would be preferable, full training will be provided.

You should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You will possess meticulous attention to detail, and a strong focus on both developing and protecting the brand.

  • Are well-versed with creative applications (e.g. Adobe CC) but can also quickly adapt to unfamiliar software

As a Solicitor at Gateway, you will collaborate with seasoned industry experts, experience and knowledgeable team of legal professionals, leveraging your legal expertise to handle complex property-related matters while contributing to the continued growth and success of our legal department.

Your role will provide you with valuable exposure to a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Supporting all litigation matters, including County Court proceedings and First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) applications
  • Assisting with lease extensions, enfranchisement, and RTM (Right to Manage) processes
  • Handling complex enquiries raised by the Solicitors Enquiries Department on lease assignments, deeds of covenant, notice of transfer, and consents
  • Drafting, negotiating, and implementing sale and purchase correspondence and documents related to residential conveyancing
  • Providing advice, support, and guidance to Property Managers

 

Essentials for the Role

You will be required to work full time in our Southend Office, with hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm.

The successful candidate must be a qualified Solicitor (0–4 years PQE) with prior experience in residential conveyancing and landlord and tenant/long leaseholder disputes, including but not limited to service charge and breach of covenant disputes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Group Solicitor with all legal matters across the Group. You should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced and demanding environment, with a strong focus on attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills

As a Trainee Property Manager at Gateway, you will be guided by some of the most seasoned and experienced industry professionals around on your property management journey.

Your responsibilities will include and not limited to:
