Service Charge Accountant

Our Service Charge Department plays a key role in supporting the efficiency of our organisation. As we continue to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Charge Accountant to join our busy Team. The role is based in our Leigh-on-Sea Office.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Prepare Service Charge budgets and actively working alongside the Property Management Department to ensure that these are realistic, effective, and distributed in a timely manner to achieve KPI targets.
- Input budgets onto the database ensuring charges are applied correctly and apportionment's agree.
- Assist Property Managers with account queries and budget preparation.
- Prepare the weekly budget report for distribution to DOO and GFC
- Prepare the monthly periodics report for the Corporate Department.
- Budget and variance reporting
- Raise periodic Service Charge demands and recharges as required.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
- Prepare Service Charge accounts for the managed property portfolio to include:
- Analysis of income and expenditure
- Accruals and prepayments where necessary
- Review and analysis of the Service Charge budget to actual expenditure and prior year performance.
- Liaising with the Property Managers and external accountants to ensure accounts are complete, queries resolved and issued in a timely manner to achieve Corporate KPI targets.
Essentials for the Role
You will be required to work full time in our Head Office, with hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm.
- Applicants must be either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Service Charge experience is preferable
- Sound commercial understanding
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Meticulous attentional to detail
- Organisational skills
