The days are getting shorter, and the temperature is dropping. Winter has arrived, which means it’s time to consider the steps you can take to ensure your home is ready for what’s ahead.

Supporting Macmillan: Another successful Coffee Morning for charity

We recently had a wonderful opportunity to support the amazing charity, Macmillan Cancer Support and show off our baking skills with a Coffee Morning.

Through this event, we were able to raise an impressive £660 to help the Macmillan nurses, their support line, provide financial support, and more.

Everyone at Gateway was proud to have participated in this meaningful event for a wonderful cause, and we are looking forward to the next one!

Spotlight on Yorkshire: Taking care of new properties

We are delighted to announce that Gateway Property Management has been appointed as the managing agent for several new developments in thriving communities across Yorkshire. This exciting expansion continues our steady nationwide growth in 2023.

August highlights

Our management portfolio will now include almost 100 modern homes in the picturesque town and parish of Snaith, East Riding of Yorkshire. Near the River Aire and surrounded by nature reserves and country parks, this development is another gem for us to take care of.

Our Leeds office has also taken charge of a stylish new development in South Yorkshire, located in the market town of Barnsley. The residential community of over 215 homes is near historic landmarks, such as Wentworth Woodhouse. For contemporary living just outside of Leeds, we will also manage 150 homes in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The town is full of iconic landmarks, including the Castleford Millennium Bridge and Hepworth Wakefield art gallery.

Our local teams elsewhere in the UK are also keeping busy. We look forward to being there for a new community of residents in the historic town of Hailsham, East Sussex, with the stunning Herstmonceux Castle on the doorstep. This development, comprising 240 new homes, is another summer highlight.

The number of households renting has more than doubled over the last two decades. The UK property market needs rental homes more than ever, and landlords require financial peace of mind. Here are our tips on maximising property investments.

Get the rental rate right

Price and location are key factors.

Rents must be competitive for the area, although every property really is different, so gauging this can be tricky. At Gateway, our team of nationwide Property Managers are experts in market conditions and rent levels across the UK for a range of residences, from apartment blocks to individual homes. If you need any advice, just ask.

Look after your tenants

Good tenants are worth keeping, which means resolving any issues swiftly and professionally. A proactive approach to maintenance is essential.

That’s the reason we have our own Gateway Facilities Management team. Tenants can simply pick up the phone to us, knowing that we’ll take the appropriate action. Besides happy tenants, fixing a small problem quickly stops it becoming a more costly issue later. Best maintenance practices also help enormously in catching potential issues which can’t be seen.

Keep your investment in prime condition

To realise the best premiums, rental properties need to be in good condition. Kitchens and bathrooms are especially important.
